Frank Blue

When painting bright or primary colors, it is best to prime with a gray.  This saves a lot of time because with out it, it would take many coats to get the color to cover correctly.  The darkness of the gray depends on the color. Usually the manufacturer will make a recommendation.  For this color, Sherwin-Williams recommended a P6 which is one of their primer color numbers.
