Making Your New Home Yours

This homeowner just purchased this house.  It is beautiful but not in colors she likes best.

New paint color is Ligonier Tan

The open Livingroom and Diningroom paint color complements the maple wood work.

New color is Ligonier Tan

The wall color is Ligonier Tan by Sherwin-Williams.

White Spindles

This homeowner had wanted white spindles on the railing since the home was built years ago.  The builder didn’t do it.

It is easiest to paint the spindles before they are installed but it is not impossible to do after the fact.  Make sure that you take time to tape carefully.  It can be tedious but it will make a difference in how the project turns out.  Also keep in mind that it won’t be perfect.  It is difficult to get every little nook and cranny.  Next sand the varnish coating off as much as possible – the small areas are the hardest.  Then vacuum and use a tack cloth to removed the dust.  Now get out the primer.  Depending on the stain color, you may want to do two coats of primer.  Next, paint the spindles.  I use Sherwin-Williams ProClassic.  It comes in latex and oil base.  The latex drys as hard as an oil base but is easier to clean up the tools.  I recommend two coats of paint.  Lastly, remove the tape carefully and completely.  I use a wallpaper knife to help me get those tiny pieces off.

From Wallpaper to San Diego Cream

This homeowner wanted to update her bedroom by removing the wallpaper and painting the walls.

Paint Color is San Diego Cream

Now the room is light and bright with San Diego Cream by Benjamin Moore.

Pick Colors from the Bed

Main Color Cay – Accent Wall in Briny

The wall colors came from the bedding.  These colors are bright and vibrant!  Cay by Sherwin-Williams is a beautiful blue and a few shades darker is Briny.  Fun colors for the grandkids to sleep in!

Update with an Accent Wall

This homeowner wanted to update the rec room.

Utterly Beige with Cobble Brown

The main color is Utterly Beige by Sherwin-Williams and the accent wall is in Cobble Brown.  The space really warmed up with the accent color.

Neutralize to Sell

Painting neutral colors is a must when putting your house on the market.

From Orange to Colony Buff

Theses rooms are now Colony Buff by Sherwin-Williams.

From Primary colors to Colony Buff

Now when buyers look at this home, the bright colors won’t make them run. Note – I loved the bright colors!  They were fun!
