This beautiful home has some new color that makes it stand out!
When you enter, your attention is brought up by the color Retreat from Sherwin-Williams.
From this view, Retreat meets up with Sedate Gray also by Sherwin-Williams.
These two colors are also used in the formal living and dining room. Retreat accents the arch making it a standout feature.
These colors were selected from the Neutral Nuance Color Collection from HGTV Home by Sherwin-Williams.
This is a bathroom in the house I am renovating.
What a change!
I added bead board and a chair rail. A pedestal sink gives the illusion of more space. The trim is in Dover White accented with Urban Bronze (dark gray). I also painted the outside of the tub with this color. The top half of the walls are in Escape Gray. The bottom half is in Ethereal Mood. These colors were selected from the Neutral Nuance collection HGTV Home by Sherwin-Williams.
This homeowner was ready to change to color.
Out with the white, in with Barcelona Beige and Dovetail. Dovetail is the accent wall that spans both the livingroom and diningroom area. These colors are from the Sherwin-Williams & HGTV’s Liveable Luxe collection.
These homeowners wanted a light, bright space.
From Tan & Green to Eggwhite
Changing from colors to cream can be done but it takes some work. To go to a cream or any white color, the walls have to be primed. I had the primer tinted to the wall color, Eggwhite by Sherwin-Williams. I used their Quick-Dry Stain Blocking Primer. Two coats of the primer was used with a 4 hour dry time between coats.
Color is Eggwhite by Sherwin-Wiliams
Next day, I used Super Paint by Sherwin-Williams in Eggwhite. Super Paint is primer and paint in one. Two coats of this paint was also applied to get good coverage.
This bathroom went from bold red to cool blue/gray.
From red to Silver Crest by Benjamin Moore
Now the bathroom is Silver Crest by Benjamin Moore. It almost looks like it could be two different rooms. This took two coats of Quick-Dry Primer by Sherwin-Williams and two coats of Super Paint by Sherwin-Williams. What an amazing transformation!
The khaki color in this room was OK but the new homeowner wanted a change.
After picture paint color is Dovetail
The new color is Dovetail by Sherwin-Williams. This color made the stone feel more part of the wall because the mortar blended well with the Dovetail color. It was an excellent choice!
Another view of this room shows how too many colors is not always a good thing.
Dovetail Arch matches Livingroom.
The after picture has a calm, coordinated look with Dovetail painted on the arch. The dining room is in Universal Khaki. These two colors go very well together.
Family room in Dovetail and Barcelona Beige by Sherwin-Williams.
This family room was white and boring. The bottom half wall and fireplace are painted Dovetail. The top half is painted Barcelona Beige. Both colors were selected from the Liveable Luxe Collection by HGTV and Sherwin-Williams. I tiled the fireplace area in 1″x2″ glass & stone tiles. The Natural Tan paint color on the mantel brings out the color of the stone. This will be a cozy place to hang out on a cold winter day!
Have you ever seen floor tiles on the wall??!! That is what was going on in this kitchen. It was a lot of work to pull off all the tiles and then scraping all the glue off! I had to use a heat gun to get the most stubborn glue off – what a labor of love!
Remove the tiles! Paint it!
But it was worth it!! I did have to bring in a drywall taper to skim coat the walls. There was no other way to get them in condition to paint. The walls are Accessible Beige (Sherwin-Williams) and the cabinets were painted Curio Gray (Sherwin-Williams). These colors were selected from the HGTV Home by Sherwin-Williams Coastal Cool color collection.
